PROPOSITION 98: EMINENT DOMAIN. LIMITS ON GOVERNMENT AUTHORITY.
INITIATIVE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT.

PROPOSITION 99: EMINENT DOMAIN. LIMITS ON GOVERNMENT. ACQUISITION OF OWNER-OCCUPIED RESIDENCE. INITIATIVE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT.

Protects ALL private property from Eminent Domain Abuse:

  • Homes
  • Small businesses
  • Family farms and ranches
  • Rentals
  • Places of Worship

Prop 99 is a sham, protects virtually nothing:

  •  Some homes, some of the time

Read Prop 99 : the loopholes are enormous -- homes must be owner-occupied for 12+ months, exceptions for health and safety (i.e. whatever the city wants to say is a violation), and zoning can be changed to take residential neighborhoods. Read analysis of Prop 99 .

Prop 98 is supported by more than 10,000 donors:

  • Taxpayers
  • Homeowners
  • Farmers
  • Small business owners
  • Property owners (small and large)
  • Victims of Eminent Domain Abuse

Prop 99 is supported by those who want to keep the right to take private property for private development:

  • City and County Politicians
  • Redevelopment Agencies
  • Developers

Why did politicians and developers spend $4 millions dollars to put Prop 99 on the ballot?  Simple, to trick voters.  Don't be fooled.

Prop 98 prohibits government from setting the sales or rental price of private property.

Tenants who live in rent-regulated communities will continue to receive the benefit of those regulations as long as they live in their residences. Prop 98 protects current tenants from unanticipated increases in their rents.

Prop 99 does nothing to reign in government's ability to set price controls on private property.

In fact, Prop 99 does nothing to stop government from taking rental property and turning it over to a developer to build a shopping mall or big-box chain store.
